Sevens maestro, Waisale Serevi’s team of Fiji UK rugby league team failed to proceed to the second round of the Carnegie Floodlit Nines tournament in England last night.

The Fijians lost 10-22 to Wakefield.

Serevi’s inclusion drew a lot of public attention as English fans poured in to watch the greatest 7s rugby legend in the world.

This, however, failed to live up to the hype Serevi’s spark failed to ignite the fire within the Fijian warriors.

Meanwhile, the British Army team, which also had the services of some Fijian soldiers based in England, lost to Hull 14-24.

Huddersfield won the inaugural Nines tournament with a 20-4 win over Challenge Cup finalists Hull at Headingley last night.
