New name for Suva stadium this week
August 25, 2008

The Fiji Sports Council board will meet tomorrow to decide on the new name for the National Stadium in Suva.

FSC boss Paul Yee said the new name will be accorded to the winning corporate organization that meets the sponsorship criteria set out to help maintain the national sports complex at Laucala Bay in Suva.

“We received overwhelming results from interested parties. We hope to name the new company that will have the exclusive naming rights to the National Stadium on Friday,” he added.

It is believed that corporate giant Vodafone Fiji Limited is among those short-listed.

Vodafone Fiji has already bought naming rights to the Vodafone Arena formerly the known as the Sports Dome, Ratu Cakobau Park, Prince Charles Park and Subrail Park in Labasa.
