Following the excitement of the opening ceremony, Olympic competition kicks off in earnest on Saturday with several Pacific athletes taking part.

Fiji's Glenn Kable will be lining up for the Men's trap shooting qualification at the Beijing Shooting Range.

Petero Okotai from Cook Islands will take to the pool, the very high tech Beijing National Aquatics Center also known as the Water Cube, for the men's 100m breaststroke heats.

Two Samoan athletes will also be competing
