Skipper leads the way in 3-1 win
July 25, 2008

Nasinu skipper Asish Chand led by example when he scored three goals to help his side dump Nadroga 3-1 in the first game of day two of the Battle of the Giants tournament at the National Stadium this morning.

Chand equalised for his side in the dying minutes of the first spell while Nadroga looked promising when Sanjeshwar Singh score midway through the first spell.

He pulled two back in the bag in the second half when he linked up well with Solomon Islander Alvin Kilua, George Gulu and Niten Kumar in the forwards.

The Southerners look promising in their pool after they defeated a star studded Lautoka side 1-0 last night and booked their second win from three games in the competition this morning.

The Southerners will now await their final pool play against a strong Ba outfit at 10am tomorrow.
