Stallions on the road to redemption
July 03, 2008

Nadroga looks to be a force to reckon with in the Digicel Cup as they look to maintain their standing at the top of the competition table.

The fourth round of the Digicel Cup sees Nadroga travel to Korovou to play Northland in what they expect will be a tough match.

Nadroga is looking to redeem their reputation in the domestic front and get back to the top of provincial rugby.

“Nadroga is a champion team, we cannot take that from them,” Northland manager Kaliopasa Bogiva admitted.

“They’ve been playing for years and have seen a lot of talented players don their jumper, we respect them.”

Nadroga coach Esala Nauga said they were eager to get back on the field and a rejuvenated side will not let Northland claim victory in their home turf.

“Their going to give us a good game, that much we know. But its up to the players, they play well and do what we have been training on this week then the win will come naturally,” Nauga said.

Sevens rep Emosi Vucago will be rested this week, giving game time to Samu Laqai – this, Northland believes is not an advantage on their part.

“If Emosi is out, they can put in another Emosi,” Bogiva said.

“Last week the boys failed to follow the game plan, but against a team like Nadroga we cannot afford to do this.

“We need to focus, focus and focus – there is no room for indiscipline this week. We have to defend our turf.”

The game kicks off at 3pm at Gatward Park.
