Ba Football officials have expressed disappointment with the National League Board following the team’s second match postponement in as many days.
The Ba-Nadi Super Six fixture scheduled to be played tonight at Prince Charles Park in Nadi was postponed by the League Board at the eleventh hour yesterday.
This comes after a request by Nadi soccer officials, who said their players could not obtain release from work for the match.
Late last week, the Ba-Labasa clash was also postponed after Ba failed to get flights to Labasa following the late adjustments to the match venue from the National Stadium to Subrail Park.
Vodafone Ba soccer boss Rishi Kumar said he was totally frustrated with the League Board and the way in which its officials conducted their activities.
“This is totally unprofessional, I am not impressed at all with this type of actions as this is the second time in just the last couple of days that our fixture has been postponed,” said Kumar.
“We spend a lot of money, time and energy to get the players to train and when things of this nature occur, it really becomes frustrating because the people concerned do not seem to take all this into consideration.
“The postponement is totally unacceptable as officials of all districts had agreed to the fixtures when they were initially set and now when the series has got on track, they start to call for postponements which in fact will drag the season further and will affect the districts.
“The excuse by Nadi does not carry much substance as all districts have players that are employed and yet play mid week matches therefore it’s not fair for Nadi to complain and the officials should have somewhat have a back up plan for their mid week matches” added Kumar.
In the NEWWORLD Super Six Series this weekend, Power Electric Suva hosts VEnergy Nadi at the National Stadium, Lautoka travels to Labasa and VIVA Rewa play Vodafone Ba at Ratu Cakobau Park.
The Bottom Four, Southern Forest Navua host Singh’s Rental Nadroga while Farmers Tavua faces Swift Engineering Nasinu.
The time and venue of the clashes are yet to be confirmed.

I think Rishi Kumar has many sides.Last week he said Ba team cannot return on monday coz his players cant miss work on monday. If he is so concern about his players going to work than i dont think ha should complain about nadi players not obtaining release from work.If he is so concern about postponment of matches, than he should have taken Ba Team to play Labasa and return on monday. In fiji not all players are paid by playing soccer. So Rishi Kumar shut your mouth and think before what you are saying and what you have said.
All the best

congrats nadi!!!! you made a very good decision.becz BA is in rush of finishing its games and fly to india, not other districts, they got enough time to play their matches on weekends...wonder why pple saying BA Will represent FIJI in india,i think its rubbish because they will only represent BA not fiji, and again if they lose there????pliz tell them to say that they are BA TEAM not FIJI....SO now BA is two games behind, what will mr PATEL do now to favour BA..question to FFA is that why can'they send our national team to india,i think it will be good exposure for our national team and they can improve their skills, etc

I guess no games should be played in the weekdays as I understand its very difficult to get player release from work. All games should be played in weekends. All games hosted by Labasa should be played on Saturday so that players can return on the same or the following day. This way no districts will have complains for game postponement. When the initial fixtures came out, it was the responsibilty of the district officials to see the fixtures and oppose the current fixtures since it's hard to get player release in weekdays. Anyways hope there are no more postponements in future games.
Cheers
