Krishna lives the dream after United win May 12, 2008
Budding Fijian soccer wonder-boy Roy Krishna will live the dream of playing on an international football stage as his team awaits the result of the winner of the UEFA Champions League game between Chelsea and Manchester United, which his Waitakere United team will play at the World Club Championships.
This is after the champion New Zealand side climbed from their shock 3-1 defeat at the hands of a plucky Kossa FC side from the Solomon Islands a week ago to thump them 5-0 in their return O League match yesterday.
While the Siberia youngster from Labasa did not feature in the match against Kossa FC as he was ineligible to play, he has been signaled out to be part of the side that will compete at the World Club Championships after impressing his Waitakere United club who have until recently have had to ward off offers from other Kiwi clubs trying to secure his services.
Oceania Football Confederation media officer Gordon Glen Watson has also confirmed that Krishna is eligible to play in the World Club champs.
Roy and his Waitakere United side who are the O League champions will go straight to the World Club Cup against teams like the UEFA Champions League winners and South American champions.
