Vulivuli creates Fiji soccer history
December 20, 2007

Fiji referee, Finau Vulivuli has become the first female referee to make it into the FIFA listing for 2008.

Vulivuli, who has been instrumental in the domestic scene, received praises from Fiji Football Association.

“We are very proud of her achievement,” chief executive officer, Bob Kumar said.

“This is a huge milestone for Fiji FA and women soccer in the country and we are assured that she will go a long way.”

Vulivuli is currently in New Zealand officiating in a tournament and is expected back into the country tomorrow.

“With the rise of women soccer tournaments within the country, we are sure that Finau will get the exposure she needs to excel.”

“She has created history of being the first female referee from Fiji to go this far,” he added.

Rakesh Chand Varman from Suva, Andrew Achari from Nadi, Salesh Chand from Labasa and Rohitesh Dayal has also made referees and assistant referees respectively.

FUTSAL officials, Nitesh Naicker and Amitesh Behari have also been confirmed into the parent body.
