By Reginald Chandar Suva will feature in the second semifinal of the 2012 Inter District Championship here at Govind Park in Ba tomorrow after beating Savusavu 2-1 in its last pool match and topping Pool 2 with maximum 12 points from four matches. The Gurjit Singh coached side becomes the envy of many due to their fine performances in the tournament so far. With a changed team, the Capital City side found the going tough in the first spell and allowed veteran Waisale Rasoki to net the opening goal, giving goalie Mesake Navitikula no chance at all. Samuela Drudru levelled scores just before halftime as both teams rested 1-1 at the break. Savusavu which was still in contention for a semifinal spot needed to score more goals and win the match to keep its chances alive but the introduction of Solomon Islander Ralph Sherwin and Nigerian Sanni Issa made life difficult for the Northerners. Sanni, the tournament's top goal scorer with six goals to his name could not get on the score-sheet today but managed to set up the second goal which was scored in style by Drudru. The goal also became Drudru's third of the tournament and the former Lautoka and Nadroga marksman is now second behind Issa. Savusavu which has now officially bowed out of the tournament after three straight losses will play Ba in its final match later today. FijiLive
