Suva bag $4K in runners-up finish

By Sunil Sharma

Issa Sanni and Samuela Kautoga scored for Suva in their 2-1 victory over Labasa to help the Whites to finish second on the NFL standings and in doing so earned themselves $4000.

Filipo Daugunu scored for the Babasiga Lions.

Suva coach, Gurjit Singh praised his players for the win today.

“I’m happy with the win but there are still lots to be done and improved as we do not have much time to prepare for the IDC tournament,” Singh said.

He also confirmed Sedric Dutt did not take the field today because he was disciplined for not turning up in camp last night.

“Discipline is a must in camp. We will not be entertaining such heading into the IDC.”

The game also marked the return of Emori Raqata who was named in the first XI.

Suva finished the season with 42 points while Labasa eighth with 15 points.
