Second pros surfaces in Rooney scandal September 09, 2010
Coleen Rooney, wife of Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney, is bracing herself for further revelations after a second prostitute alleged to have slept with her husband was named.
Single mother Helen Wood, 23, has been named as the call girl who joined Jennifer Thompson for a threesome with Wayne at a five-star Manchester hotel last year.
Wood was invited to join her friend and the England footballer a few weeks after he met Thompson.
The women's former madam Laura told The Sun that Helen was very "open-minded" when it came to requests.
"She very quickly became our most popular girl because she was so pretty and slim.
"I knew about Wayne immediately after it happened. It was all excited talk among the girls and Jenny loved telling everyone about the £1 000 gambling chip he gave her."
Meanwhile, Thompson's parents have made a public apology to Rooney's wife and her family for their daughter's behaviour.
Hamish and Dana Thompson said they were shocked to learn of the 21-year-old's antics with the England footballer.
The father said: "This may sound somewhat hollow, but my wife and I would never condone what has or may have happened. We had absolutely no idea about any of the allegations that have been made."
The couple's apology came as Wayne prepared to face his wife for the first time on Thursday since claims that he cheated on her with a prostitute.
She has agreed to meet for talks after her husband flies back from Switzerland, where he played in a European Championship qualifying match, scoring England's first goal.
Friends said the meeting was make or break for their marriage.
The 24-year-old is said to have made no decision on the couple's future but feels she owes it to their marriage and their 10-month-old son, Kai, to hear her husband's version of events.
She will want to know the extent of his liaisons with Thompson - a £1 200-a-night (R13 400) hooker known as Juicy Jeni.
Rooney's wife was seen in public on Wednesday for the first time since the revelations.
She was stone-faced as she was driven from the £1m Merseyside home of her parents, Tony and Colette McLoughlin - bought for them by her husband - and made it impossible to tell if she was wearing her wedding ring.
Friends said her marriage to Rooney, 24, was "hanging by a thread", and there are increasing suggestions that she could go it alone and demand a divorce.
For his part, Rooney has apparently told friends he will make no attempt to rescue his marriage if his wife decides to leave him.
As in any divorce, experts claim that she would be eligible for a large slice of Rooney's £27m (R303m) fortune - and any future income from football and sponsorship deals.
His wife would be able to rely on her own £8m (R89m) fortune, built up through sponsorship deals.
A close friend of the couple said last night: "Wayne and Coleen have never been a Posh and Becks - they've never been marketed together as a couple or a brand.
"His image is a macho one derived from his background, as a Liverpool lad who learnt to play on the streets who went on to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
"Hers is based on girl-next-door appeal, her love of fashion and her bubbly personality Of course, were she not married to Wayne, her career might have been less stellar.
"Coleen has achieved success and popularity in her own right. What are the chances of them having a future together? I'd say 50-50. They are hanging by a thread."
Coleen's father is said to be so furious that he has barred his son-in-law from their home, saying: "He is never, ever setting foot in this house again."
However, Rooney has told friends he is "not prepared to take s*** off the wife and her family, not least because they're all living a very nice life off the back of his talent".
