Top guns grouped together for IDC

Pool 2 of the 2010 Inter District Championship which will be played in Suva has been classed as the pool of death.

The pool consists of Battle Of the Giants champions Rewa, traditional giants Ba, National League winners Lautoka, host district Suva and giant killers Nasinu.

Defending champion Navua leads Pool 1 with Nadroga, Nadi, Tavua and Labasa.

The pools of the Courts IDC were drawn at the Courts Samabula branch this afternoon.

Besides the super premier division, the premier division pools were also drawn.

Northern champs Savusavu heads Pool 1 with Levuka, Rakiraki, Taveuni and Seaqaqa while Tailevu Naitasiri, Tailevu North, Vatukoula and Nadogo make up Pool 2.

Defending champions Dreketi is Pool 3 with Lami, Nalawa and Bua.

Fiji FA president Dr Muhammed Shams-Ud-Dean Sahu Khan received the $105,000 sponsorship cheque from Courts chief executive officer Rajesh Sharma and thanked the sponsors for their continued support.

The winner of the Super Premier division will walk away with $15,000 while the runner up $5,000. The two losing semi finalist would receive $1000 each. Premier Division winner takes home $5,500 while the runner up $1,500.

The Inter District Championship will be played at the TFL National Stadium from 7-11 October.
