Rewa president Pranil Singh is confident the Battle Of the Giants champions will also be able to lift the coveted Lloyd Farebrother trophy in Ba next month.
Speaking during the team’s reception in Nausori on Saturday night, Singh said the players had proved their worth by winning the BOG and he saw no reason why they shouldn’t lift the IDC title as well.
“The win was special and I wish to thank all the players for giving the best and playing their hearts out for the district.”
“The win has not only inspired the younger generation of Rewa but has made all members of the community proud.”
“People often ask me about the special secret to our success in the BOG and I always tell them that it is the hard work, dedication and the commitment of the players.”
“Discipline is important for the success of any team and I must thank my heroes for maintaining discipline in camp during and before the tournament.”
“The players were left on their own in camp and not a single official was around to guide them as we believed in and trusted our players.”
“The boys went out swimming, to the movies and to the city yet they maintained their discipline and worked as a team.”
“IDC is our next target and we will prepare thoroughly for the tournament as well as our remaining National League matches which will act as a buildup.”
“We will retain the same team which won the BOG and George Lui will definitely come for the IDC to boost our chances” he concluded.
The VIVA Rewa players received $1000, gifts, medals and certificates for winning the INKK Mobile Battle Of the Giants.
