Rewa coach Tagi Vonolagi knows what to expect when the Delta Tigers take field against Ba in the National Football League at Govind Park tomorrow.
And the former national skipper who has been enjoying an unbeaten run with Rewa so far this season believes Ba will be a tough nut to crack but is adamant about his team’s chances against the former champs.
“We are ready and know what to expect from Ba” he said.
“We want to win the match at any cost and step up our performance to another level.”
“Rewa has been playing tough matches so far and we shouldn’t be facing much problem against Ba as we have prepared well and should go firing.”
“Ba as always will be very tough on their home soil and whether they field a young or experienced side, they are always the same at home.”
“My players know what to do and expect from the opponents and I am certainly looking forward to an exciting match tomorrow.”
“We will miss Nathan Kumar in midfield as he is out with an injury but will be introducing a new player in the team as his replacement.”
“We have been introducing a new player in all our matches and by doing this we are giving a break to the youngsters and giving them the much needed exposure.”
Vonolagi also revealed that Ulaiasi Tamanisau will be manning the goal as he wants his elder sibling and national stopper Simione Tamanisau to do the damage upfront for the southerners.
“Yes, Ulaiasi will be in goal because he is equally good as Simi and in a crunch match like this, I would prefer to use Simi upfront since he has the ability to score goals and contest for aerial balls.”
Solomon Islands star player James Naka is expected to feature in midfield while Tamanisau will pair Peniasi Vakasaukuru upfront with seasoned striker Ratu Veresa Toma expected to come off the bench in the second half.
Rugged defender Marika Rodu, Solomoni Niulevu, Serevasio Doli and youngster Peniame Drova will be the key men in the Reds defence.
Meanwhile, Ba will be without Malakai Tiwa and Malakai Kainahewe. The pair copped injuries against Nadi last weekend and are yet to recover.
Alvin Singh and Rinal Prasad are expected to replace the duo while in-form Josaia Bukalidi is likely to skipper the Men In Black.
The VIVA Rewa- Energiser/4R Electric Ba match kicks off at 4pm.
