The Fiji Football Association has decided to go on with the National Football League matches scheduled for this weekend despite a cyclone warning in place for the Fiji group.
In the first of the five Fiji Sun/Weet-Bix NFL matches scheduled for the weekend, Nadroga hosts the Fiji U20 tonight at Lawaqa Park.
Fiji FA competitions manager Jainendra Sukhu said all games will commence on the scheduled kick off times and they will be monitoring the changes in the weather patterns closely.
“As it stands all the games will go on as scheduled and we will not be postponing any game although there is a cyclone warning.”
“We are monitoring the weather reports and will only call off the fixtures if the situation worsens.”
“The report that we have says that the Fiji group is likely to be hit sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning and we will have all the matches completed if nothing severe pops up before this time frame” said Sukhu.
In the matches tomorrow; Ba and Rewa clash in the feature match of the round, Suva travels to Nadi to face the Jetsetters while Tavua will play host to Navua at Garvey Park.
In the lone match on Sunday, leaders Lautoka will take on Nasinu at the tfl National Stadium.
