Blues clear duo for Hekari clash November 03, 2009
The Lautoka football team has lifted the suspension of goalkeeper Alivereti Baleiloa and striker Valerio Nawatu after not finding enough evidence against the two.
This confirms the availability of the duo for the Shop and Save Blues fixture against Hekari Souths of Papua New Guinea this Saturday.
Lautoka soccer boss Shalendra Prasad said after their meeting yesterday it was decided that the two be given the chance to play as no concrete evidence against them could be obtained.
“The disciplinary committee met yesterday and came up the conclusion that the two players be allowed to play while there will still be some investigation going on.”
“The players did not plead guilty and there wasn’t substantial evidence either to prove otherwise so they have been given the green light to play.”
“The coach has confirmed to us that they are fit to travel with the team so the two players will surely be going to PNG with Lautoka.”
“Both players have the experience with them and its good to have them back with the team as we are going away with the sole aim to win and know Hekari will be a tough nut to crack in its home ground” added Prasad.
Nawatu and Baleiloa were suspended temporarily after allegations of match fixing surfaced after the Blues 0-2 loss in the final of the IDC in Nadi.
