Blues release reps for local league October 21, 2009
The Lautoka Football Association has decided to release all its players to feature in the final round of local league competition this weekend.
The O League representatives of Fiji made the move to allow the clubs to strengthen their bid for the upcoming National Club Championship.
Also cleared to feature for their respective club are suspended striker Valerio Nawatu and Alivereti Baleiloa.
LFA president Shalendra Prasad said they would not hold back the district reps from featuring for their respective clubs this weekend as it’s club through which the players got identified and selected into the district team.
“We will not hold any player back although O League commitments are important and players need to be injury free as the club commitment of the players should always come first as it’s the clubs that shape the district team.”
“We have the last and very exciting round of local league competition and have released all the players to help their clubs qualify to represent the district in the NCC next month.”
“As for Valerio and Alivereti, they both are eligible to play for their Shop and Save Blues club as their suspension is applicable at district level only.”
“We will give the full support to our club teams so they can also do well in the national tournament as last year one of our clubs played in the final while the other bowed out of the semifinals” said Prasad.
Last season’s NCC finalist General Machinery United and Shop and Save Blues who are both laced with bulk of Lautoka reps are the top contenders to represent the district in the western zone playoffs next month.
Southern Forest Navua is the defending champion of the National Club Championship.
Thanx for the well wishes ... the reason soccer doesn't make any progress in this country is because of people like you who always think negative and obviously are missing the bigger picture. All the best to ma blues ... and had it been Ba or any other team for that matter, I would still support em' cos at the end of the day it's for Fiji as a whole and not just a district ... peaceout ... bluezzzz ol d way yo'.

Lautoka is like a primary school standard team when compared with overseas clubs ... wait when they play New Zealand standard clubs ... will easily lose by 7-0.
