The Fiji Football Association is hunting for a new sponsor for the upcoming Battle Of the Giants tournament after Flour Mills of Fiji opted not to renew its sponsorship this season.
Fiji FA chief executive officer Bob Kumar said they have received confirmation about FMF’s intention of not willing to continue this season and the search has begun for new sponsors.
“We are thankful to Flour Mills of Fiji for their sponsorship for the last three years” he said.
“Their sponsorship agreement has expired and they have decided not to renew it and we appreciate their decision as we very well understand the difficulties the business sector is currently facing.”
“There are three or four companies interested in coming on board as new sponsors and talks are currently underway.”
“We should be able to finalise the details and announce the new sponsor in the coming weeks” Kumar added.
The tournament this season will be held at Churchill Park in Lautoka from 6-9 August and the preliminary round will be played at various venues from 2-3 August.
Ba is the defending champion of the tournament. The Men In Black beat Labasa 2-0 at the National Stadium with goals from Pita Bolaitoga and Maciu Dunadamu.
