Dau to spear head Tigers campaign October 08, 2008
Former Fiji soccer defender Lorima Dau will spearhead Rewa’s campaign in the 70th Courts/Homecentres Inter District Championship which gets underway in Ba tomorrow.
The 25 year old Tailevu native was given the nod during the presentation night of the Kriz Signs/NZOTC sponsored side last night.
Dau one of the most experienced players in the Delta Tigers squad will man his brigade from the sweeper’s berth.
Rewa with the inclusion of three Solomon Islanders and overseas based players in the form of Waisake Sabutu, Sameer Ali and Stewart Bola will be a tough nut to crack in the tournament as the Kamal Swamy coached side has prepared well for the past three weeks.
The Rewa contingent leaves for Ba today and plays its first match on Friday against Nadroga at 9.30am.
Rewa has won the IDC title eight times with the most recent been 2001 where Ravuama Madigi netted in the winner against Ba in the final.
