Chillia, Nimariau to feature for Vanuatu September 05, 2008
Fiji-based Vanuatu soccer players, Seimata Chillia and Joseph Nimariau will feature for Vanuatu tomorrow in the 2010 World Cup Qualifier against Fiji at Govind Park in Ba.
The duo have been playing on the local scene for over three years with Chillia playing for Suva and Nimariau moving to Labasa earlier this season after two seasons with the Capital City.
Chillia, who has captained Vanuatu in many internationals, will be the most experienced player on the field tomorrow while Nimariau who broke into the Vanuatu U23 team after his impressive performances in Fiji will be out to cement his place after his debut tomorrow.
The William Malas-coached side also has experience in the form of Samson Obed, Fedy Vava, Jean Nako and 2007 Pacific Games sensation Francois Sakama.
The Vanuatu contingent arrived into the country last night.
Fiji and Vanuatu are out of the running for the top spot from Oceania for 2010 after scoring two losses and a draw each in their group matches.
The Fiji- Vanuatu match kicks off at 3pm tomorrow.

First i would like thank Fijilive for being neutral unlike Fijivillage who only support certain group of people. The comments made by Raymond Stoddard and Bob Kumar was pathetic this morning. in this modern era who ever can afford they will have the best so if two Vanuatu players playing here whats wrong, they would not have complained if same players were playing for BA. their comments was childish and low as if NZ or Australia thinks same then majority of our players there might loose their contracts. So grow up self proclaimed number one commentator

In the interest of development of soccer in the country, FFA should distribute international matches to other districts, and NOT just to Ba. I notice that FFA gives the greatest exposure of soccer to Ba and this has been the case in Fiji soccer historically. This is what is making the rest of the districts so disgruntled with "the parent body". In the interest of soccer in Fiji, I plead to FFA to give equal exposure of soccer to ALL districts, not just Ba. However, if you really believe that Ba is all you got for Fiji soccer, then say so and dismantle all the other district teams. You will then be eternally united as FFA/Ba and will go down in history as the most ridiculous soccer organization of the world that killed nine of her districts to save one !! Wake up FFA !!
