Nadi maintained its unbeaten Battle Of the Giants run and held BOG champs Ba 1-1 in the midweek fixture of the Super Six Series at Govind Park in Ba.
The Jetsetters led the Men In Black till the 72nd minute but some misunderstanding by the Nadi defence allowed Ba to sneak with the equaliser and escape with a draw.
V Energy Nadi started the match attacking and scored an early goal in the 7th minute of the first spell through rugged defender Josefa Tabusau who right foot pile driver caught Ba goalie Nicholas Lawrence off guard.
Vodafone Ba applied the pressure after the goal and dominated the first spell but failed to find the net.
Double substitutions by Ba coach Yogendra Dutt made the difference as replacements Maciu Dunadamu and Rinal Prasad set up the equaliser for Tuimasi Manuca in the 22nd minute of the second half with the final touch coming off Dunadamu's head.
Dutt kept Dunadamu, Prasad, Shalen Lal and Pita Bolaitoga on the bench and made the changes when it mattered the most with Bolaitoga not getting the chance to play as he missed training earlier in the week.
However the crafty midfielder is expected to make the run on team against his former district Labasa on Friday night in the clash of the titans of Fiji soccer.
Former Fiji goalkeeper Netani Moce who was given the nod to feature in the match by Nadi in the last minute as its top choice goalie Benaminio Mateinaqara was not able to make it for the match played his heart out and made some daring reflex saves to keep the Ba attack at bay.

The result wasn't what Ba fans had expected. Hats off to Nadi for holding Ba. You should've been in the BOG semis.
Looking at the line up of Ba theres a ray of hope that Ba is creating depth in its reserve bench. This wuld be needed in India.

hats off to Nadi for holding Ba? hahahaha! Hats off to Labasa imports for giving Ba a draw else Ba would be in mourning right now! Already lost 4 points in 2 draws.....ab ka hoi???? Bolo ba to ba hai! Ba will never win S6 title. Labasa is the only team which has won all titles in Fiji soccer. Does Ba have S6 and Girmit title?

Ba fans need to understand that Ba team has not peaked as yet, they are taking it easy for India game and will peak for O'leauge. We have learnt from last year when we peaked during IDC and and then started going down. The other teams have peaked and would on downward slide now, just like Lautoka, they peaked very early and are having difficlty in gain the momentum agian.
I have full confidence that Ba will do very well in O, leauge this yaer, and thats waht matters to Us, we have record in all local championship and there is nothing more to prove in Local games, let the other nine teams fight locally, where we should worry about O'leauge. I urge the ba fans not to worry about Local results, if we win its a bonus, if we loose or draw it team building and preparing for O'leauge and international commitment.

Good on you nadi. A point proven that without Labasa players, Ba is still nothing. they only managed to equalise after Maciu entered the field.

Where are the Ba's own home players. Cant they score goals on their own. Their days are gone now. They have to use imports from Labasa to win BOG and Super six.

The comments of bhanp is what we call "rationalization" in psychology. Rationalization is a defence mechanism that makes one feel comfortable and less anxious after a kind of "loss", be it a personal loss or loss of an item of love. Ba is no where internationally !!

If BA takes two more players from Labasa than they will improve more, coz Labasa players gave them 2008 B.O.G Victory, they only won on Labasa Favers.......BA fans should stop high flying, coz time changers in moments......Take some more Labasa Boys and earn you name in Fiji Soccer to Be Soccer Kings.......clever trick Dudes !
