Suva treats Ba clash as BOG final
August 06, 2008

The Suva soccer side will treat its Super Six clash against Ba this Sunday as the final of the Battle Of the Giants tournament in which the team bowed out in the semifinal.

According to Suva soccer officials they were deprived of their right to feature in the final of the tournament by referee Dhiren Kewal whose dubious decisions cost the Whites heavily on its home ground.

Suva secretary Avinesh Permal said the much awaited encounter which the fans missed to see in the BOG grand finale would be on showcase at the same time and the venue but for a different title and is confident of his team’s chances.

“Actually this was the expected final during BOG but did not eventuate. This will be the final at the same venue, same time but in National League which we missed out and will be decided who is the real giants of Fiji Soccer, said Permal.

“The team will be out to topple Vodafone Ba come this Sunday and fans should expect exciting football when the two teams clash for the third time this year.

“We have beaten Ba twice this season and will be out to maintain our unbeaten record of the year so far against them.

“Ba is on a high after its BOG victory and would have played two big games against Nadi and Labasa before coming up against us therefore we will not be underestimating them as they will enter the match with more experience and confidence.

“I am urging all the Suva supporters to come out in numbers and show their support to the boys who have been badly affected with the saga that has surrounded the team over the past two weeks” he added.

Ni Vanuatu players Seimata Chillia and Rickson Tari along with experienced reps like Jovilisi Rara, Inosi Cava, Jone Lati, Roderick Kumar, Joseph Mishra and Esava Naqeleca will carry the Whites hopes with nippy forward Nalesh Prasad and 17 year old goalkeeper Filimone Bolatawa also expected to get their big break against the traditional giants of Fiji soccer.

Charged trio of Sedrick Dutt, Yogesh Narayan and Krishna Sami are in doubt for the clash as the outcome of the Fiji FA Board Of Control meet in Suva on Saturday will determine their eligibility for the match on Sunday while red carded defender Maleli Nakalavo will also miss the clash as he has to serve a two match after copping a direct red from referee Kewal.

The Power Electric Suva- Vodafone Ba clash will kick off at 3pm on Sunday at the National Stadium.

To all Suva fans.
Your team is worthless. If a team can come back after you were winning by 2 goals and beat you take the loss.Keep the excuses to urself coz B.O.G is over and Labasa humilated you in your own ground. Suva has always been sorry loosers and they should change there name from allwhites to alltalk.
Ba ---- toh Ba haye

Come on Suva. Labasa had already equalised before the penalty and the red card to the infringing player. You guys are cry babies. Talk on the field. What happen when u guys lost so many matches to Labasa in Superleague. Hopeless creatures.

Well as a LABASA fan i want to comment on Suva Team, in the B.O.G semifinals they were leading Labasa 2 nail, the game was all there`s they were not attacking and time weasting that`s why Labasa was able to come back and level scores, and as everyone is saying the penelty was in faver of Labasa so had it been in faver of suva would they be angery .........well all soccer lovers would the know the answer to that question, what ever happens every team must obey the Reffs rules, that shows how good they are able to make excuses and becoming BAD loosers........stop crying white babies how many times have you beaten Labasa in the last 2years.........? The problem with Suva Soccer is they have more than extra money for development of Soccer but every year they have outside players in the team and outside coach thats why the Assocation is not moving a head...... develop your own bread you will have less problems !If LABASA CAN beat SUVA as many times as it comes in the League and Tournment than shame on the Capital City Boys.......loosers are alaways loosers GROW UP Whites.......Daud, Auckland N.z
