Solomon Islands have booked their spot in the FUTSAL world cup in Brazil after they won the Oceania FUTSAL championship competition at the Vodafone Arena this afternoon.

They tied with Vanuatu in the last day of the competition at 12 points on the tournament tables.

Tahiti did the Solomons a favor when they defeated Vanuatu 2-1 to dash Vanuatu's chances of booking their ticket to Brazil this September.

The Solomon Island camp is bursting with excitement and celebration. Officials have planned a huge celebration at the Pacific Theological College in the next few hours.

Solomon Islands had earlier thumped Tuvalu 12-0 in their last game.
