Ba leads O-League race
May 15, 2008

The Ba soccer side has taken the lead in the NEWWORLD National League points table following its impressive 4-0 victory over Nadi last night.

The Men in Black have thrown down the gauntlet to Lautoka and Labasa to record big wins this weekend if they are to represent Fiji in the O-League.

The Vodafone Men In Black now have 18 points with a superior goal difference of 26 and have displaced Lautoka and Labasa, who also have 18 points each but goal differences of 20 and 9 respectively.

With the first round of the National League coming to an end this Saturday, the winner of the round and the O League representative will not be known until the final two matches between Vodafone Ba and Vodafone Labasa and VIVA Rewa and Lautoka.

Ba, Labasa and Lautoka are all in with the chance to finish at the top and enter the Fiji FACT tournament scheduled for the end of this month on a high.

As well, they have a chance to represent the country in the regional competition, which has gained a lot of popularity.

Ba and Labasa are in a do-or-die situation and a win to either side on Saturday will give them the edge.

On the other hand Lautoka will also need to win at Cakobau Park against Rewa and hope that the match at Govind Park in Ba ends in a draw or in Labasa’s favour.

If things go Lautoka’s way then the Blues will go through because of a better goal difference but a win to Ba will make things difficult for Lautoka because they trail Ba by six on goal difference.

The National League Board has set both matches at the same time to avoid match fixing between the teams. Both games kick off at 6pm on Saturday.

Congratulations Ba for beating Nadi 4-0. I hope you take this match with Labasa on Saturday very seriously and you must win at all cost to reprent Fiji in the O- League series. It must be a do or die affair for Ba soccer players if they are proud to wear Black Jersey. Do not under estimate Labasa as they will try all their tricks to beat you for the third time in a row which would be very shameful for Ba Team and Ba Fans.
Please do not be over confident in this game and try to score as soon as possible and many goals if possible.
Go Ba Go. I urge all Ba soccer fans to come and support and cheer their Ba Team so they can win over Labasa and once again represent Fiji in O League series.
Best wishes to Ba Team, Ba players and Ba Fans on their match with Labasa on Saturday at 6pm.
I request Fiji Live to provide regular updates on their website regarding this match please for their overseas fans to keep trcak record of the game.
All the Best Ba. Aim for win and nothing else.

I wonder why the game is at 6pm rather than having the parallel games - daytime. Blues watch out as Ratu Cakobau Park is known for flood lights going out. If things go a miss then FFA is to be blamed for scheduling matches in the evening. Labasa watch out - stoning incident which took place when Blues defeated BA at Govind Park.At least the safety of players and officials could have been given priority. I hope good sense would prevail to finish the League on a high note. Best of luck to BA, Labasa and Lautoka to battle out and represent Fiji in O-League.

Labasa team should be careful. They should take a stone-proof bus to Ba cause it definitely will be stoned after Ba's loss.

Before the F.A.C.T. this is the big game and let's see what turns out for man in Black coz reminding everyone Labasa will be there fully ready for the game and just for there record what ever happens but Labasa won't loose that's final, which ever team goes to get a chance to play the O - League is not a matter, but to loose your name for LABASA aginest rivals Ba is a big thing that LABASA can't affort to happen so Ba will get a good run no matter what ever tricks they might have........DAUD Auckland !

Just to comment on k06sharma, as he is tell everyone around the world that how crazy the Ba team and the Fans are, that defeat is hard to take and soccer is only played to win, and if BA loose the the bus should be stoned.....clever idear bro...shame on the Ba fans that it's hard for them to accept defeat.......! Be a good looser...Daud Auckland .

k06sharma, you should also come in a stone proof bus to watch the game. You'll definetly be stoned regardless of the result.
