Ba trounces Nadi, awaits Labasa clash May 14, 2008
The Ba soccer side is just a step away from featuring in the O-League competition again after recording an impressive 4-0 victory over Nadi in their all important clash in the NEWWORLD National Soccer League at Govind Park in Ba.
The win has pushed the Vodafone Men In Black Ba on top of the points table with a superior goal differential over Lautoka and Labasa who are all tied up with 18 points and will battle it out this Saturday to determine the first round league winner and Fiji’s O-League qualifier.
Ba started the match attacking and found the net in the 24th minute when rising star Maviliko Nakama headed in a Shalen Lal cross which gave Nadi goalkeeper Beniaminio Mateinaqara no chance at all.
Inspirational midfielder Malakai Tiwa increased the margin in the 43rd minute after racing in from the flanks to slam the ball past a hapless Mateinaqara.
Ba led 2-0 at halftime.
Nadi failed to settle well after the restart and conceded an early goal to Shamil Rao who neatly beat three Nadi defenders before placing the ball into the back of the net to make it 3-0.
Nadi introduced Olympians Ratu Josefata Dugucagi and Uraia Loki in the second spell but the duo failed to shine in the match and could not beat the Ba defence which was well marshaled by Alvin Singh and Leone Vurikania.
Ba scored their fourth and final goal of the match just minutes away from fulltime to seal an important and decisive win ahead of their final and all important match on Saturday against arch rivals Vodafone Labasa at Govind Park.
The O- League representative from Fiji will be known on Saturday evening following the completion of the Vodafone Ba- Vodafone Labasa and the Lautoka- VIVA Rewa matches.
Both games kick off at 6pm on Saturday.

its just not easy sometimes to beat BA but its impossible..jealousy takes it away cos every one knows and its the FACT that BA are the KINGS of fiji soccer..its hard to swallow that. And when we lose a match, we appreciate and learn from that, a total respect to the opponent. A simple msg to "some" district fans/teams, if u wana become champions of fiji soccer, first of all take the hatret out and ask yourself whats the reason that BA SOCCER TEAM or BA are the champions of all time. Its always better to learn from others.

Never count Ba out. They are traditional giants of Fiji Soccer. Labasa defeated Ba in CVC, Nadi defeated Labasa in National League and Ba has defeated Nadi in League.Only one team has climbed to number spot overnight and that is Men In Black by defeating Nadi. To all ANTI-Ba fans: Ba toh Ba raha, Ba toh Ba hai aur Ba toh Ba rahi. By just winning one or two games against Ba does not mean Ba is out.

Ba to Ba hai...the only team that can show hw to play soccer is Ba ...so any one jealous only coz Ba is the real xhampions they are always a determined sid weather its a tourment or a league game they go to the tournments dertermined to win and after that they losre or or wn the play like professional team. The problem in Fiji soccer the development strategies the district incorporates. After Secondary School IDC what happens next? FFA - where is Youth Competition? We need to look at macro-level. Soccer is Fiji is slowly becoming profession as districts are bringing in players paying hefty transfer fee. At least players are getting their money worth. You will be a better judge while watching Fiji Fact - the standard of Fiji Soccer.
