The Labasa soccer side will not take any teams in its pool lightly despite being drawn in an easier pool which apart from hosts Nadi has three bottom four teams in the form of Navua, Tavua and Nasinu.
Vodafone Labasa soccer president Abinesh Kumar said they would prepare well for the tourney and would not take any team lightly as all teams enter tournaments with their own set of surprises.
“The pools don’t really matter. What matters are your preparation and focus on the tournament.”
“You can win a tournament by coming through a tough pool and you can also win by coming through an easier pool. It should not be taken for granted that Labasa and Nadi will go through as the other three teams can and should not be underestimated.”
“Tournaments are played on a 60-minute basis and with the atmosphere and crowd support, any team can do wonders. We give every team the same respect because associations sacrifice a lot to field a team,” said Kumar.
Meanwhile, Fiji soccer wonder boy Roy Krishna will not be part of the Lions campaign for the Fiji Bitter FACT as the Siberia lad is on a stint with A- league franchise team Wellington Phoenix and is also contracted with Waitakere United in New Zealand.
It is difficult for him to play for Labasa as he would need an international clearance under the new transfer window. He would not be able entitled to fly back with an international clearance once registering with a local district.
Regulars Pita Bolaitoga, Maciu Dunadamu, Dinesh Mudliar, Sandeep Nair, Henry Dyer, Apisalome Turuva, Shamal Kumar alongside this season’s recruits Taniela Waqa and Samuela Kautoga are expected to carry the Lions hopes in the Fiji FACT.

Take each game 1 by 1 as it comes in the F.A.C.T, NO MATTER it's an easy or taff one, play according to game plan by making early GOALS, than LABASA is all good to reach the finals in the FACT,mantally we all know the tournment belongs to LABASA and they will win,so the LABASA Team should be also in that sprite too.LABASA need to play soccer to win not to play enjoyable soccer for the crowd to make the fans happy,it's time now to make tournments on there name coz in the past years all our good Labasa players were bought by other teams to play for i plee LABASA Team and coach and management to work as one team to win and earn name for year 2008 coz it's Labasa year, Daud Rahman......Auckland New Zealand !
