Labasa trounce the Men In Black
September 29, 2007

Labasa town was buzzing this afternoon when their soccer side defeated local champions, Ba 3-0 at Subrail Park in the kick off of the NewWorld National League Super Six Series.

The Men In Black were the favorites to win the game from the very start with several key players from the gold medal Pacific Games team minus Josaia Bukalidi and Peni Finau.

Labasa came out soaring in the first 15 minutes of the game and used their crowd support to their advantage, coming through with two goals from Maciu Dunadamu and Pita Bolaitoga.

Young sensation, Roy Krishna bagged another goal for his side to bring the scores 3-0 at halftime.

The scores held till fulltime despite numerous chances for the hosts to extend their lead.

“I am the most happiest man in Fiji right now-I can’t stop smiling,” Abinesh Kumar, Labasa president said.

“We have proven that even a team like Ba can be beaten. It does not take a star-studded team to defeat them-only dedication and sacrifice.”

Kumar added that the win was a great boost to their campaign in the competition and the upcoming Courts Homecentres Inter-District Championship later in November.

“We could not have asked for anything more. We have come a long way and we knew that we had what it took to do something like this-we just needed to believe in ourselves and dedicate ourselves to believing just that.”

Meanwhile, Suva lost to Lautoka 1-0 at the Post Fiji Stadium, the lone goal coming from Salesh  Sami Bula in the second half.

Nadi meets Navua at Thomson Park tomorrow afternoon for the last S6 match this weekend.

Go Labasa go, Labasa has beaten Ba, labasa to Labasa hai.. they have beaten and now coming up with conclusions,Ba palyed a excellent game too, as they always play, but good goal keeping and dfence from Labasa have denied them a goal. Ba came overconfident to Labasa...Don't blame the ground conditions and players not present for their lose, prove ur worth in next game. Settle down when you ae defeated. Ba...Ba...Kalash

Soccer Pudit Mr Raymon's prediction went wrong not in the first time but i would say for another time" i donot understand why he is regarded as " SOCCER PUNDIT" he should know that the ball is in shape that never remain for once side. All his coments in about i would remain as "SOCCER PUNDIT" which his prediction that Ba n Lautoka will reach final has been proved to every single person yesterday even the biggest upset i saw was Nasinu beating Lautoka. Well the teams Like Ba , Lautoka and Suva that he predicted havent performeded to anyonce expectations. Well for Navua anyone would have predicted that they will qualify. All the best to Raymon for future comments.

Vinny, Auckland, NZ.
Congratulations Labasa for beating Ba 3-0 at your home ground and breaking their unbeaten record. Well done & keep it up. If you can win this year's IDC then you will be declared the true champs of Fiji Soccer. Ba must have lost because players must be over confident as usual and they did not take Labasa too seriously. Ba will definetly overcome this loss and they will be a force to reckon in the IDC irrespective of where it is held. BA will not like to give their IDC title away at any cost as they are the defending champions and will go to create another record this year. I bet on Ba to win the IDC and beat Labasa or Nadi in final by 1-0. One loss in S6 series should not deter Ba in any way from winning the most sought trophy in Fiji the IDC cup.
I urge Ba Soccer Team to get together and find out what went wrong in this game to Labasa and start preparing for the IDC.
Go Ba,Go. Ba- Man in Black. You are my Team for the life what ever happen as no District Team in Fiji will ever be able to come close to your record in Fiji Soccer. I wish Ba Soccer Team & Ba fans all the best in this year's IDC & O League series.

for the time being 3 is enough. To the ba fans don't be a bad loser. You lost convincingly from the young brigade. Ba can win tournaments- no doubt about that. Just have a look around and count the labasa players in each district. I am sure story would be different if economy in Labasa was better. Go Lions Keep up the ROAR!!!!GRRRRR

its quite unfair to read comments like "ba was overconfident" or that "ba ke ghamand tut ge"
i'de like to say ba has always been a humble side, no show off despite winning so many tournaments. Labasa is reacting like it has won the world cup or something..doesnt it tell you something about the ba team :-)
We'll be back in style...Here comes the men in black...

WEL,whats the big deal if you have defeated Ba,That doesnt prove anything,no one can fiji match Ba's records. c'mon atleast win a tournment.its seems that all other teams in fiji are made up faggs.
shame on you, cant even win a tournment,Ba rules. C'mon buch of loosers try winning a tournment. you pple cant win any tournments in fiji. Learn something from Ba. I cant understand why other teams in fiji playing soccer, they are useless,in past 3 decades other teams havent achieved any thing,so dnt try to compare yourself with Ba.

LABASA has beaten BA|oops| just like FRANCE beating the ALL BLACKS . it shouldnt bother Ba because they still are the number 1 team in fiji soccer.Ba is still the best and they will remain like that.Everyone who doesnt go for BA also knw this but they wont admit. BA toh BA hai: meaning soccer is still alive in FIJI, without BA soccer would be boring in FIJI. KAISE BAAT

Labasa has done wonders in the past and they are back again. So to the Ba fans, donot count the eggs before they hatch.

Beware guys coz you wud get to see more from Babasiga boys.......... donot count them down

Hi,

I am 23 years old approx 5 8' and weight approx 9.5 stone.

My favoured playing position is right back but can play anywhere.

I currently play semi-professional in England with East Durham United but have played at professional clubs.

I have had a trial at the following professional clubs in England: Kettering Town FC, Coventry City, Leicester City
I have played professionally in Belgium for FC Montegnee up until this week. Our latest game being against Standard Liege where we drew 1 -1.
I am due to have a trial at Newcastle United (English Premier League) in May this year also.

I am looking for football trials at a good level club and i am hoping you will be able to help me with this.

I would like to come over for a trial in May or June 2009. Please let me know if this will be possible.

You can email me at this address prosales12@hotmail.co.uk or contact me on 00447912791076

Hope to hear from you soon.
