Ba looks to settle scores at O-League August 20, 2007
Nadi had filed a complaint against the Men in Black following their nil-all draw in the NewWorld National League Series saying the match should have been abandoned when the referee of the day got injured.
The referee had to be replaced by the fourth official to continue the game.
We were pretty confident from day one that we would qualify for the O-League. WE had beaten Nadi in more than one occasion and here they wanted to challenge us through books,” Rishi Kumar, Ba boss said.
While they fell short last year against Waitekera, Kumar hopes this time around they will settle the scores.
“Last year was a good experience for the boys and we were devastated when we lost to them but our aim this year is to better that performance.”
“It will not be easy as Vanuatu’s team that has qualified has 14 national reps and in the game of soccer, anything can happen because it keeps on getting better. However, be rest assured that Ba will do their best,” Kumar added.
A total of 10-members in the Ba team are currently camping with the national squad at the Ba Academy. Ba will begin with their preparations for the O-League in October.
Meanwhile, Nadi’s other protest against Tavua for fielding an unregistered player in their 1-all draw match has also been thrown out as there was not enough evidence.
