Fiji 7s to improve on kickoffs: Kolinisau

Fiji 7s head coach Osea Kolinisau is focusing on improving kickoffs and communication within the team.

Kolinisau noted that while they had a 94% kickoff completion rate in Hong Kong, it dropped to 24% in Singapore.

“Working a lot on our kickoffs, in Hong Kong we had 94% completion but in Singapore we dropped down to 24%. It shows that we needed to improve a lot in that area.”

“We’re trying to get quick reactions; I always tell the boys when the kickoff happens don’t be too sure that we’ll win,” said the coach.

He also emphasized the need for better communication and said that while the players work hard, they struggle to communicate effectively during games.

“We’re also improving on our communication, which was not seen in our games, we struggle a lot with communication. Boys work hard but they’re not talking,” he added.
