Quest Fiji Limited, ANZ Banking Group’s call center provider, walked off with the major award at the TPAF Fiji Business Excellence Awards last night.
While handing out the award, chief guest, Minister for Indigenous Affairs Ratu Epeli Nailatikau said Quest - from its humble beginning with 20 staff - now boasted a workforce of more than 200 people.
Ratu Epeli said Quest had helped Fiji in the information sector and proved to the world that Fiji could provide IT-related services to the top corporate bodies of the world.
“Fiji companies have proved that they can be competitively ranked among the best in the world,” he said.
Fiji Television Limited, Fletcher Pacific Steel, Pacific Batteries Limited, VT Solutions, Office of the Auditor-General and DANAM Fiji Ltd were recognised for the Achievement on Business Excellence awards.
Life Insurance Corporation of India (LICI), Asian Paints, Suva City Council (SCC), Tanoa Waterfront and Tanoa International, Punjas Flour Ltd and Airports Fiji Ltd (AFL) scooped the Commitment to Business Excellence awards.
Fiji's new mobile service provider Digicel also got a mention from Ratu Epeli in that such competition and vision was needed in the telecommunication sector. He said with Digicel, more jobs had been created in Fiji.
