The money had arrived at the weekend from the United Kingdom for the Reserve Bank of Fiji.

An RBF spokesperson said executives were meeting tonight over the matter but no comment could be made yet.

A team of senior police officers and detectives has been assembled to carry out an investigation.

Police have appealed to the public for information.
