Fiji’s National Fire Authority (NFA) responded to a fire incident at Tavern nightclub at Valelevu Industrial area, Nasinu this morning.
Upon arrival the fire crew saw the property well involved, the fire crew established two deliveries of two hose lengths from tank supply to extinguish the fire.
The quick action by the firefighters stopped the fire from spreading to the nearby business premises.
NFA is working with the Police to ascertain the cause of the fire.
NFA Chief Fire Officer Tupou Saubulinayau said the early alert enabled the fire brigade to respond quickly to the scene.
“The fire fighters stopped the fire from spreading to the nearby properties which were few a metres away.”
NFA is urging members of the public to call 911 as soon as they see a fire start.
“Give us the best opportunity to respond to your fire incident and put out the fire before it does major damage to your building and that of your neighbours”, Saubulinayau said.
