The Fiji National University (FNU) will launch a new professional film and television
production studio in October.

The head of the FNU’s Film and Television Production department,  Ravi Malik said the fully equipped studio will include a professional facility for film production, shooting and editing.

The studio, located in the FNU Raiwai campus, will be like any other film studio in India, New Zealand and Australia.

“The fabrication work on the studio is continuing and initially it will be primarily for training purposes. However, once this studio is fully operational, we are thinking of renting out the services but that will come later,” Malik said.

He said that since the department began courses in February, 11 students had enrolled for courses in film and television production.

The studio is fully funded by the FNU.
