Fiji's national airline Air Pacific says its Nadi/Port Vila flight returned from the Vanuatu capital today after being delayed by the earthquake that struck the island nation yesterday.
Flight FJ260 on a B737 aircraft was held up at Bauerfield International Airport in Port Vila said managing director and chief executive officer Dave Pflieger.
“Our aircraft with 127 passengers and six crew on board was preparing to depart Bauerfield Airport last night when the earthquake struck,” said Pflieger.
“Airport operations were disrupted and the decision was taken to hold the aircraft with its passengers and crew overnight. The runway was inspected this morning and has been cleared of damage."
Pflieger said no other Air Pacific flights were affected by the Vanuatu earthquake.
