Top boxer faces marijuana charge

A prominent Fiji boxer is being brought to court over charges of growing plants believed to be marijuana.

The Nadi-based man has been charged with the cultivation of illicit drugs.

The charges were brought against him after 139 plants believed to be marijuana were found near his home on Tuesday.

He is expected to appear in the Nadi Magistrates Court this afternoon.
