A late night fire yesterday razed three flats in Delaitomuka Settlement in Lautoka, leaving its occupants homeless.
National Fire Authority’s (NFA) chief fire officer Tupou Saubulinayau said they received the emergency call at 10.56 pm last night.
“The fire crew arrived at 11.01 pm and found the flats well involved in the fire,” he said.
He said NFA is continuing investigations with the police to ascertain how the fire started.
The month of July has witnessed six fires in the country while for June, eight fires were reported.
NFA is calling for people to take caution in trying to prevent fires from breaking out.
