One of Fiji’s landmark facility in Suva, closed for the past two years, has now reopened for the members of the public.
The Suva Olympic pool was officially opened this morning by Minister for Local Government Colonel Samuela Saumatua.
Saumatua said the new look which is one of Suva’s old facility will give people a chance to come and enjoy with their family and friends a variety of activities.
Suva City Council special administrator, Chandu Umaria said it cost the council around $600, 000 for refurbishing of the pool and about 750, 000 gallons of water to fill up the pool within 10 days.
Umaria had earlier told FijiLive the new filter system had cost the council about $420, 000.
The entry fee for the pool this month is free of charge but as of next month, adults will have to pay $3.00 and for children $1.50.
