Three Fiji prison escapees were today recaptured at a drinking party in the western city of Lautoka a week after they made a dash for freedom from the city’s prison.
Assistant police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri told FijiLive that Paula Namau, Dwayne Hicks, Sitiveni Uluinivanua and Taito Sailaicova were found at the drinking party this morning.
The man who is alleged to have harboured the prisoners is being questioned by police.
Two other escapees Tomasi Cama, who fled from Natabua prison in Lautoka and Jone Bi who escaped from Korovou Prison in Suva are still on the loose.
Police are warning members of the public not to harbour escaped prisoners.
“The public are urged to contact their nearest police station if they find the prison escapees,” said Sokomuri.
Special police teams are continuing the search for the escapees.
