Telecom Fiji has announced the departure of its acting chief executive officer Sakeasi Seru after 38 years of service.
Seru will be replaced by South African-born Rohan Mail, a resident of Australia for the past 10 years.
TFL chairman Tom Ricketts said Seru was acting CEO for 18 months and was tasked with restructuring the company to meet the changing telecommunications environment TFL was operating in.
That task, said Ricketts, was now complete.
Seru headed various sections in TFL prior to becoming acting CEO and is a charted engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Electronics from Brighton Polytechnic in United Kingdom and holds a Diploma in Electrical and Engineering.
He attended North West (Kellogg) University for Senior Executive Management Program and is a graduate of the New Zealand Institute of Management, Management Development Program.
Mail has a degree in Commerce and Law and a MBA in Marketing, Finance and Strategy.
He most recently worked as General Manager Business Mobile for SingTel Optus and was also Group Managing Director (Acting) Subsidiary, Mergers and Acquisitions for SBC (AT&T)/Telkom SA Ltd,” said Ricketts.
He said Mail will begin work with TFL later this month and Seru will work closely with Mail during the transition period, said Ricketts.
