Three Fiji families are homeless after a fire partly destroyed their flats in Suva.
Neighbours said the fire at the flats in Lakeba Street, Samabula yesterday is believed to have started from an electrical appliance.
The National Fire Authority said it was investigating the cause of the fire but again raised concern at the ongoing spate of house fires since last year.
The NFA said in a statement that in an effort to prevent fires, it had started a fire safety awareness campaign involving community leaders such as the chamber of commerce, municipalities, government department heads, business owners, church leaders and the disciplined forces.
