The body has been found of a Fiji man who drowned in a river outside the northern town of Labasa at the height of Cyclone Tomas on Saturday.
The man is believed to be a Public Works Department worker.
He was trying to cross the river when strong currents pulled him under.
He is survived by his wife and seven children.
Fiji’s disaster management officials believe there may be more fatalities caused by Cyclone Tomas and that they will come to light as rescue and rehabilitation efforts reach the country’s northern and eastern islands worst hit by Tomas.
The cyclone’s first victim was a woman who died at a beachside on Friday while trying to rescue relatives from being swept out to sea.
