Ten airstrips in Fiji’s outer islands remain closed following the devastation caused by Cyclone Tomas.
Airports Fiji Limited spokesman Pio Rokosuka told FijiLive that while the Nausori, Labasa and Kadavu airports were now operational, AFL is still working on the ones in the outer islands.
“Our assessment team is on the ground currently assessing the damage to the airstrips and once they have compiled a report, we will be able to say when they will open,” Rokosuka said.
He said AFL will be able to determine the cost of damage once the assessment is complete.
