In a press conference this afternoon, Bainimarama confirmed the RFMF engineers and public servants have been deployed to carry out rehab works.
Government he said, shall focus on rehabilitating medical centers and schools that have been damaged.
He said in areas where schools and medical centers have been completely damaged or shall require time to rehabilitate structures, accommodation shall be provided through large tents.
“Apart from the outer islands, rehab works and assessments is being carried out affected parts of Vanua Levu.
“Most of Fiji, mostly the populated areas were spared from the devastating effects of Tomas,” he told journalists.

“The Divisional Eastern and Northern Commissioners are spear-heading the assessment teams and emergency relief funds.”
