Fiji’s tourism industry has bounced back and it is business as usual for operators, says Fiji Islands Hotel and Tourism Association president Dixon Seeto.
Seeto told FijiLive the industry has not been affected much because the majority of Fiji’s resorts and hotels were outside the cyclone’s path.
“Except for a few small hotels in the north, we have not recorded much damage,” he said adding they may have more reports once they have done damage assessments.
Seeto confirmed tourist bookings at hotels were cancelled following flight cancellations on Monday.
“These tourists have however started arriving in the country since the airports opened,” he said.
“Airlines and hotels have adopted a flexible cancellation policy which actually aided in tourists continuing to arrive in the country without any hassles.”
