A curfew in Fiji’s central and eastern divisions has been extended to 6am tomorrow, the government has just announced.
Permanent secretary for Information, Lieutenant Colonel Neumi Leweni said people should not wander around towns and shopping centres or else police would take them to task.
”People should remember that the Public Emergency Regulations is still in place,” Leweni told FijiLive.
”Police have every power to take people in who do not comply” he said.
The curfew for the northern division continues to be in place.
Leweni said those who needed to move around urgently should get passes from the nearest police station.
