The Fiji Red Cross this afternoon issued an alert to all its 15 branches nationwide to be in “ready-mode” as the threat posed by Cyclone Tomas intensifies.
Disaster coordinator Vuli Gauna said monitoring teams will be activated in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa from tomorrow morning, Saturday, when the Cyclone is expected to reach Category 3 status by the afternoon.
He said their emergency response teams have also been put on alert.
