Fiji’s High Court issued a bench warrant this morning to arrest the former Roko Tui Rewa Savenaca Kamikamica for failing to appear in Court this morning.
Justice Priyantha Fernando granted FICAC prosecutor Sanjeewa Dissanayake the request to issue the warrant.
Kamikamica’s lawyer Semi Ditoko had asked the Court for more time until his client arrived but the request was refused by Justice Fernando.
The case has been adjourned to May 27.
Kamikamica is alleged to have embezzled more than $11,000 meant for development schemes from the Fijian Affairs Board while holding the position of Roko Tui Rewa.
