Former chairman of the Capital Markets Development Authority Daryl Tarte has joined Kontiki Growth Fund Ltd as a director on its board, the investment bank announced this week.
Tarte will fill the vacant independent director’s seat on the KGF board and the role will expand his resume as current chairman of the Suva Private Hospital and Leadership Fiji as well as a director on the boards of Namale Plantation Resorts and Telecom Fiji.
“In his long and distinguished career, Mr Tarte held various senior positions, including the
Chairmanship of the Capital Markets Development Authority, Fiji Red Cross Society and the Fiji Media Council, and a directorship in Colonial Fiji, Tabua Investments and Transparency International.
He has also had a long association with the sugar industry in Fiji spanning three decades and has authored several books,” KGF said in its announcement.
KGF, which has investments in a number of local private firms, is listed on the South Pacific Stock Exchange and last traded at 50 cents per share.
Other members of the KGF board are Hari Punja, Michael Makasiale, Jack Lowenstein, David Oliver, George Niumataiwalu and Sanjay Dewan.
