A temporary relieving messenger with the Ministry of Justice was on full pay for 5 years although he was suspended, says the Public Accounts Committee in its latest report.
The Government watchdog, in its report on the General Administration Sector - 2006, noted that the messenger received a total of $31,056.96 in the five years.
It said the short-term employee had misappropriated funds totaling $29,609.87 and that his case had been pending with the Police Department for 4 years.
The committee has submitted 19 reports to the President since it was established by the interim Government following the 2006 military takeover.
The reports have since been tabled in Cabinet by the Prime Minister.
