Fiji’s civil servants will have to prove themselves for pay increments, the Public Service Commission says.
PSC chairman Josefa Seruilagilagi says civil servants will no longer receive across-the-board pay rises but based on their merit.
“The civil servants performance will be reviewed from here onwards to see whether they are eligible for a pay rise,” he said.
Seruilagilagi said the civil servants will have a 3-year contracts with their performance reviewed regularly.
The current government had decided to put all civil servants on contracts.
